Beautiful Queensland

08/19/2016

Located in the Northeast corner of Australia, Queensland is home to over 4 million people and a plethora of activities. With gorgeous coastlines and trails criss-crossing the area, Queensland isn't a place that can be seen in a mere day.

For the animal lover within you, visit the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary which houses an array of animals. You can volunteer your time or just visit the loveable koalas. There's also the Billabong Sanctuary which is home to an even larger array of animals. Located on 27 acres, Billabong is quoted as being  "Australia's best interactive wildlife sanctuary." by Totaltravel.

If you're more of a history buff, make a stop by the Maheno Wreck. What looks like a ghost ship that has breeched ashore is actually a wrecked steel ocean liner that was taken out of commission in 1935. You can walk up to its remnants and watch as time passes by this old boat.

The Pinnacles is a photography lovers' dream. Literally jutting up from the earth are limestone formations that look as if giant spikes were protruding from the ground. Absolutely stunning but also quite curious.

Mount Sorrow is one of the more popular trails in Queensland but it's not for the faint of heart. Directed more towards experienced hikers, Mount Sorrow has trails leading up to breaks in the forest that offer unparalleled views.
