Dubai: The Treasure In The Desert

10/29/2016

Dubai is a part of the United Arab Emirates and is a city, contrary to the belief that it stands alone. Dubai has the UAE's largest population, coming in at just over 2 million people. With so many people, the culture is integrated and mixed in such a way that is unique to Dubai.

Home to the world's tallest building, the Burj Khalifa, and some of the world's largest shopping malls, Dubai is a powerhouse for not only business but tourism as well. The city has an extensive metro rail system as well as a monorail which enables tourists to navigate the metropolis easily.Dubai is in fact two places Deira and Bur Dubai, separated by a creek, which you can cross on 'Abras' (one of the traditional water taxi's).It is a place of contrasts; beautiful Mosques and bustling, traditional Souqs (markets) sit alongside skyscrapers. It takes you breath away.

Be sure to visit the Burj al Arab, the world's only "7 star hotel". Although not an official title, the extensive luxury offered here is the best in the world, and for the price (up to $28,000 a night), it should be. While there, escape the searing heat and visit Ski Dubai, a ski resort within the mall.

Getting There: Dubai is now a world destination, so flights are plentiful. However for the best flight deals check out http://www.paylessflights.com
