New Emirates Route from Dubai to Croatia

01/16/2017

Introduction

Croatia is a small country in the North Balkans, but lately, it has been attractive a lot of interest due to its enormous tourism potential and proximity to Hungary, Italy, Austria and other European markets.

Croatia is a place of outstanding natural beauty, with golden sandy beaches and deep blue sea of the Adriatic, plus some wonderful countryside with lush, verdant valleys and natural springs; for that relaxing spa trip or refreshing long walk, and that sightseeing trip in the ancient city of Dubrovnik. Emirates is not the first to see this potential, and it certainly won't be the last.

New Emirates service

The new service represents a further expansion of its European network, with the commencement of daily flights from Dubai to Zagreb on 1st June 2017. The new destination will be served by an Emirates Boeing 777-300, and this will be the only wide-bodied aircraft service operating to and from Zagreb.

Although Emirates has had a presence in Croatia since 2003, this is a significant addition to its worldwide network.Emirates CEO is quoted as saying that they hope to improve the flow of trade and tourism between southeastern Europe and the Middle East and beyond into Asia, where Emirates has 45 routes.

Previously tourism from the Middle East had been pretty much confined to the Israeli market; for the beaches, and casinos of Bulgaria and Greece.

South-East Europe opens up to the Middle East

As mentioned earlier, this development means that all of Southeastern Europe will be now accessible from Dubai, and thus all of the Middle East.Previously travelers had to have stop-overs in Istanbul before taking connecting flights. Consequently, the potential for developing new markets is a large one.

On the non-passenger front, Emirates’ daily 777 services will also offer up to 16 tons of cargo per flight, opening up access to more global markets for Croatian exports, and to support trade.
