Baggage information

Carry-On Allowance: 1 Bag + 1 Personal Item
Each passenger is allowed to carry on one bag and one personal item such as a purse or briefcase. Assistive devices and outer garments do not count as personal items. All carry-on luggage must fit in the overhead bin or under the seat in front of you and adhere to the following requirements:
- Maximum Dimensions of Carry-on Luggage: 22in x 14in x 9in/56cm x 36cm x 23cm (length x width x height)
- Maximum Weight of Carry-on Luggage for Economy Class passengers: 15 lb/7 kg
- Maximum Weight of Carry-on Luggage for Business Class passengers: 22 lb/10 kg
- Maximum Weight of Carry-on Luggage for First Class passengers: 33 lb/15 kg
All First and Business Class passengers can also bring one 1 garment or soft bag not more than 8in/20cm thick

For all travel classes, duty-free items are included in your cabin baggage allowance.
If you are travelling in two classes on one journey (split class or mixed class travel), you can enjoy the greater allowance for the whole journey.
In addition to the above allowance, you may carry onboard the following items free:
An overcoat or shawl, a small handbag, a briefcase (no more than 4kg or 9lbs in weight), laptop computer (no more than 4kg or 9lbs in weight, including case and accessories), a small camera or a pair of binoculars, a "forward facing" infant car safety seat for ticketed child (aged between 6 months and 3 years) or infant bassinet or cot (that can fit on fold down shelves and can be properly secured)
Infant food and nappies (for consumption in flight)
An infant collapsible pushchair (if cabin stowage is available)

Checked Baggage Allowance
If traveling to/from Central, North or South America each passenger is allowed 2 checked bags as long as each bag adheres to the below requirements:
- Maximum Dimensions: 62 linear inches/157 cm (length + width + height)
- Maximum Weight: 70 lb/32 kg

If traveling to/from any destination other than the Americas each passenger must adhere to the below requirements:
- Baggage Allowance: None (2 pieces preferred)
- Maximum Dimensions: 62 linear inches/157 cm (length + width + height)
- Maximum Weight for Economy Class passengers: 44 lb/20 kg
- Maximum Weight for Business Class passengers: 66 lb/30 kg
- Maximum Weight for First Class passengers: 88 lb/44 kg



Children information

Travelling with infants
- A healthy newborn infant is ready to travel with us after the first week of delivery
- The infant must be accompanied by a parent / guardian
- Infant fare will be charged when an infant travels with a parent / guardian and the infant does not occupy a seat
- The infant passenger must be under 24 months throughout the whole journey. If the infant turns two years old before the return trip, applicable child's fare, tax, fee and charges apply.
- A maximum of two infants can be accepted for travel with each parent / guardian under the following conditions:
One of the two infants must be at least 6 months old and occupy an infant car safety seat. The applicable child fare will be charged
The other infant must be secured onto the parent / guardian with a child restraint device. Infant fare will be charged
The parent / guardian should bring their own infant car safety seat.

Infant baggage
Infant is defined as a passenger under 2 years of age who does not occupy a seat.
If traveling to/from Central, North or South America the accept infant baggage is
First  class (Infant)  - 1 checked bag up to 32kg (70lbs)* per bag , 115cm (45in) Length + height + width, in any combination
Business class (Infant) - 1 checked bag up to 32kg (70lbs)* per bag, 115cm (45in) Length + height + width, in any combination
Economy class (Infant)  - 1 checked bag up to 23kg (50lbs)* per bag, 115cm (45in) Length + height + width, in any combination
All other destinations except Americas - 10kg (22lbs)*
*plus one fully collapsible stroller/pushchair

Infant amenities 
All our aircraft are equipped with special baby bassinets and packs as well as a wide range of baby food
Each aircraft has at least two toilets with special fold-down tables for changing diapers.

Car Seat
Subject to restrictions below, a personal infant / child car safety seat can be taken on board if it complies with the following requirements:

- Forward facing
- Designed for carrying an infant / child between the age of 6 months and 3 years inclusively, and weighs 18kgs or less
- Must be in operational condition.
Due to safety requirements, infant / child car safety seats may not be used on some of our aircraft passenger seats*. This includes :
- New Business Class seats on all aircraft types
- New Economy Class seats on Airbus and B777-300ER aircraft.



Pets

Pets in Cabin
With the exclusion of service dogs, no pet or animal of any description will be permitted in our passenger cabin. Pets such as dogs, cats and birds will be crated and transported in the cargo compartment. You should check with the local government office for all documentation required (i.e. health certificates and travel permits) if you plan to fly with your pet.

Dogs and Cats in Transit
You need to apply for an Import Permit for your pet if you fly to Hong Kong, even for transit. For more details on application procedures as well as import requirements, please visit the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department's website.
