Baggage information

Carry-on Baggage
-  Weighing up to 7 kg and consist of:
- 1 piece not exceeding dimensions of 105cm or 23 cm x 34 cm x 48 cm (depth+height + length)
- 1 suit pack or garment bag, non rigid/unfolded not exceeding 185 cm (11cm x 60cm  x 114cm)  (depth+height + length) or another small bag or briefcase.

In addition these items are allowed
- Laptop computer, a handbag, pocketbook or purse.
- An overcoat, wrap or blanket.
- An umbrella without metal points, or walking stick.
- A small camera or pair of binoculars.
- Infants’ food for consumption in flight.
- A pair of crutches or prosthetic devices for your use, provided that you are dependant on them for mobility.

Checked baggage allowances for all Virgin Blue and Pacific Blue Domestic Flights:

A flat fee of $8 will apply for an increased allowance of 23 kg/51 lb of checked baggage for passengers traveling on discount fares when purchased online or through Virgin Blue's Guest Contact Centre as part of the booking process. If the checked baggage allowance has not been pre-purchased, a $20 charge for up to 23 kg/51 lb will apply at airport check-in.

Children information

Infants (0-2)
An infant must be accompanied by a passenger 15 years of age and over or the parent/legal guardian who is 13 years of age and over.
You may be required to show proof of the infant's age at check-in, at which time the evidence of age must be presented on request. The infant’s valid passport and/or travel documents will fulfil this condition.

Infants travelling with V Australia will be charged at 10% of accompanying adults fare, and must be carried in the accompanying adult/guardian's lap for the duration of the flight.
If you wish to pay for a seat for your infant, you will be charged at 75% of the accompanying adults fare (which is the child rate). These bookings must be made through our Guest Contact Centre.

If infant turns 2 years on the trip, a ticket will have to be purchased for any flight on which the infant will be over two years old.

Bassinets are available onboard our V Australia international flights for the comfort of your infant, subject to availability. The bassinets are designed for infants only and the maximum weight they can hold is 18 kilograms.

Infants Baggage
Check in limits
Specific Infant equipment is carried free of charge on Pacific Blue and Polynesian Blue flights. All other infant baggage will be included as part of the parent or guardian’s baggage allowance.
Items of Infant equipment include but are not restricted to:
* Pram/stroller
* Portable cot
* Car seat
* Baby capsule

Carry on baggage
If you are travelling with an infant you may carry on an extra bag containing articles for use in the cabin such as nappies or baby food.
Adults accompanying infants are entitled to check-in one additional piece of checked baggage, to the specifications below; plus one stroller, bassinet or car seat. They are also entitled to one extra piece of carry-on baggage weighing no more than 7kg (15 lbs) with dimensions of no more than 115cm (45in).
- For V Australia flights to/from USA: 1 additional piece (maximum 32kg / 70lbs)
- For V Australia flights to/from all other International Destinations: 10kg / 22lbs


Pets policy
- Only domestic dogs and cats are accepted. For any other type of animal, you should contact Toll Air Express.
- Also, pet travel is only offered on domestic routes within Australia and New Zealand. For other types of animals, additional animals, or international travel, contact Toll Air Express.
- Domestic flights with Virgin Blue & Pacific Blue will only accept a maximum of two (2) pet cages per person.
- You should book your pet through the Guest Contact Centre

To travel on Virgin Blue, your pet must:
-Appear to be in good health.
-Not be unduly aggressive.
- Be over 8 weeks old. This is due to possible dehydration while travelling. For dogs or cats under 12 weeks old, Virgin Blue recommends you obtain a veterinary certificate, as some breeds are more susceptible to dehydration.
- Be housed in a container which complies with the Virgin Blue and Pacific Blue pet cage requirements.
You can take up to two kennels per passenger, with up to three pets per cage. If there is more than one dog or cat in the cage, they must be:
- All from the same litter.
- Under 6 months old.
- Less than 14 kg each.

Australian Domestic Flight
Fees are each way, per container.
- Small Pet (less than 20 kg): AUD $55
- Medium Pet (21 - 30 kg): $97.90
-Large Pet (31 kg or more): $101.20 + $3.30/kg
New Zealand Domestic Flight
$60 each way, per container. The maximum weight limit for cage/pet combined is 65 kg.

The container must be:
- Supplied by passenger or purchased from Toll Air Express (within Australia).
- In good repair so that the dog or cat cannot escape from it.
- Not too small for the dog or cat.
- Lined with absorbent material.
- Strong enough to withstand damage (cannot be chewed through).
- Made of metal or a polypropylene material and must not have any wheels attached.
- If two part rigid plastic containers, the top and bottom or side parts must be secured by screws or nut and bolt.
- Must have escape-proof hinges and latches, and be adequately locked.
- Animal and container combined must not exceed 65 kg for Australian Domestic or New Zealand Domestic flights.
- Must not exceed 120 cm x 70 cm x 80 cm. Must not be collapsible.
